Historical Information
Duck Lake is part of the Chain O Lakes system formed when the Wisconsin glacier melted, leaving behind lakes in the Fox River Valley.
One of five lakes connected by small canals and channels (Duck Lake, Long Lake, Spring Lake, Dunns Lake, and Brandenburg Lake) rather than the main Fox River channel.
Originally inhabited by various Native American tribes including the Miami, Mascouten, and Potawatomi.
Notable Features
Premier Ice Fishing – Ice fishing on Duck Lake is a big draw, especially for perch and winter species.
Quieter Experience – Offers a more peaceful alternative to the busier main Chain lakes due to limited canal access.
Canal Connected – One of five lakes connected by small canals rather than the main Fox River, keeping boat traffic lower.
